~ Truffled Mac + Cheese ~

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awesome! The cast iron dish is a cute touch; as for the mac itself, I couldn’t wait to dig in. Note: I tried the side instead of the entrée, so ~results may vary~.

Flavor: ⭐️⭐️

For a truffled mac & cheese, I can definitely say I expected more flavor – it was surprisingly bland. The primary flavor in this dish was the basic taste of béchamel, with the occasional hint of truffle oil.

Creaminess: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fairly creamy, but nothing out of this world. It is tough to keep baked mac & cheeses from getting dry; the mark of an outstanding mac is one that can maintain its creaminess.

Cheesiness: ⭐️⭐️

If this mac was a theater production, the cheese was cast as an extra, not in the starring role.

Texture: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The texture was great. The breadcrumbs gave a great crunch to the dish, and the penne was perfectly cooked.

Overall Experience:

I really like Grizzly Peak, and their food is great. Naturally, it’s possible that the full-sized mac could be better than the side, so if this score improves, you guys will be the first to know!
