~ Mac & Cheese ~

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Walking into The Eagle, I saw a waitress spin by with mac on her tray, in addition to empty skillets of mac on every other table, and I knew I was in for a bomb meal. Would you guess that this is simply a side dish?? I sure didn’t. Not only is it a glamorous-looking mac in a quaint, cast iron skillet, but it even came nested in a rustic, wooden plate… let me reiterate – this is a side dish.

Flavor⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The menu is humble in its description, as it simply says that this is a five-cheese mac with some breadcrumbs. While this may be true, it is so much more. I can’t say that I even attempted to figure out what cheeses they used, because I was too busy enjoying it in ignorance. Garlic can so easily be overwhelming in a mac & cheese; it should be the harmony, not the melody, which was accomplished perfectly in The Eagle’s mac. Rounding it out was a little bit of kick, really ~spicing up~ the dish (pun intended).

Creaminess: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just what you want to see (taste). Everyone loves to find a cream sauce on the bottom of the dish that they can stir in, and The Eagle is living to please.

Cheesiness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As with everything else, first-rate. Like I said, I could not even tell you which cheeses were in this mac, because their stellar taste and my sublime state of mind took precedence.

Texture⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alright gang, let’s hone in on the breadcrumbs here. Perhaps you have an eye for perfect breadcrumbs, so you already know from the photo how phenomenal they were. For the rest of us commoners, you’ll simply have to trust me when I say that these breadcrumbs had the perfect amount of crunch, perfectly balancing the smooth creaminess. What more could I say? Probably, but the five stars speak louder than I.

Overall Experience:

Forget about the mac for a moment (easier said than done, I know). The service that we had at The Eagle was possibly the best I have had in my life – seriously, I tipped my purse upside down to get a big enough tip. Though I don’t usually think too much about price in my reviews, this mac was five dollars. I mean, hell, have you ever seen such a good-looking or generous side dish? Oh, and how could I forget; you could basically swim in the alcohol glasses, which could never be a negative. To summarize, I had a five star time, and had a five star mac at a five star price.
